Data Packets

Satel modems need to have the data packetised, here is an example of how to calculate it using one customers data

When we calculate system timing , the formula is following:

TIME = Data Base to Rover 200 byte =  200byte*10bits / 19.200 kb/s  = 104msec . + 21msec = 125 mseconds = Rover get the message and then it respond =>

TIME = Data Rover to Base 92 byte = 92*10 / 19.200 = 48 msec + 21 msec    = 69 mseconds

Your system sending interval is 5 Hz = 5 times in a second = 1/5 =  200msec intevals

Total  time = 125+69 = 194msec   <  200ms     =  This system works!

When you increase interval to 10 Hz  =  100ms and then data will collide from base & from rover
