The basic principles to take into account...
a) The data rate of the Profibus segment must be defined according to the slowest equipment, which very often is the radio modem. So, if you are willing to use wireless communication and cables in the same site, you should have a dedicated segment for radios.
b) If the device is a touch panel or some other kind of control panel, there may occur some lack of communication capacity.
c) The interfacing can be done either by using the CRS-PB (YC0501) cable or by using the NARS-2 interface adapter, depending on the most practical approach for connecting the cables to the PLC.
1. Master-to-Slave, or Master-to-MultiSlaves
1a) Radio modem parameters
Model = SATELLINE-3AS-NMS Channel spacing = 25 kHz Com port 2 = RS-485, 9600-8-E-1 FEC = OFF Firmware = 4.0.13 Other parameters as defaults.
Identical settings for all the modems in a system.
1b) Profibus parameters
HSA = equal to the real highest station address in the system Data speed = 9600 bps
Tslot_Init = 1000 Max. Tsdr = 980 Min. Tsdr = 36 Tset = 1 Tqui = 0 Gap factor = 50 Retry Limit = 5 Ttr = 46001 Watchdog = 87837
2. Master-to-Repeater-to-Slave, or Master-to-Repeater-to-MultiSlaves
2a) Radio modem parameters
Model = SATELLINE-3AS-NMS Channel spacing = 25 kHz Com port 2 = RS-485, 9600-8-E-1 FEC = OFF Firmware = 4.0.13
Radio modem addresses (examples): Master Tx addresses = 0001/0001 Rx addresses = 0004/0004 Repeater Tx addresses = 0004/0002 Rx addresses = 0003/0001 Slave or Slaves Tx addresses = 0003/0003 Rx addresses = 0002/0002
Other parameters as defaults.
2b) Profibus parameters
Tslot_Init = 2000 Max. Tsdr = 980 Min. Tsdr = 36 Tset = 255 Tqui = 20 Gap factor = 50 Retry Limit = 5 Ttr = 62612 Watchdog = 119508
